Practice Routines
General approach is to pick 2 styles per session from Rhthym Acoustic, General & Classical / Fingerstyle. Then, for each style: - Warmups & Technique (10 min max) - Current song/item (15 min max) - Repetoire (10 min max) (play through 2 songs in that style rotating)
It works out to about an hour or so of practice. Ideally it's broken into 2 sessions in the day. Also, on the current song / item, breaking it up and spiraling back to it is likely more useful (at least for me). As an example, spend 5-7 minutes on a trouble spot. Move on to repetoire & do 1 song. Come back and spend 5-7 minutes again (same spot or a different spot). Back to repetoire and do a different song. Come back for the final time and play the song/item through end to end regardless of trouble spots.
Rhythm Acoustic
Generally rhythm acoustic after an initial warmup always needs to be played against a metronome. The key for rhythm is always being on time (or a little behind or ahead if appropriate). So always work against a click. Will rarely need to go above 120 with 1/8 notes.
